ABOUT US

The West Tisbury Inn was rebuilt 22 years ago into the beautiful building it is today. Historically, it was built in the 1700s as the original Rectory for the First Congregational Church of West Tisbury and was moved from it's original location at the cemetary a half mile away. We have a grassy yard over 1/2 acre in size, great for games and play, and a 70 ft. covered, wrap-around,  Victorian porch with rockers and comfortable furniture that looks over the yard and flower gardens. We encourage you to visit The M.V. Chamber of Commerce website, mvy.com, for details about your stay on Martha’s Vineyard! We are located in downtown West Tisbury across from the Grange Hall, Town Hall, West Tisbury Library, playground, and the historic Alley's General Store. Visit the website https://www.wtfmarket.org/ to learn more about the hours for the Farmer's Market located a quarter mile away at the new Agricultural Hall. The Town Hall is also a bus stop. For schedules please visit https://www.vineyardtransit.com/route-schedules , so no need to even bring your car, although it is recommended. The bus system provides a bike rack if you would like to bring your bike! Please note that all beds are made up with new fresh linens and we provide new cotton bath towels as well. You have full use of the kitchen, washer and dryer. Let us know what else we can help you with!

Town Of West Tisbury

Picture
West Tisbury was first settled by English settlers in 1669 as part of the town of Tisbury. The town was officially incorporated in 1892, the last town on Martha's Vineyard to be incorporated. Despite its separation from Tisbury, the original settlement of the town is still located in West Tisbury. Historically, it has been the agricultural heartland of the island. Up through the 1980s West Tisbury was one of the quickest growing communities on the island. There is a library, art galleries, playground, Grange Hall, Farmer's Market, and a historic General Store within walking distance.

"I was born and raised on Martha's Vineyard, studied Biology and Art at the University of New Hampshire, and have lived coast to coast and traveled to some far reaches of the World.  I moved back to my beloved island home and started a computer tech/IT company. I have also recently worked as a Wine Director and Sommelier. I am now blessed to be in my second year as an innkeeper. I am looking forward to sharing this magical property with you and your family!
